If you would like to meet with a Peer Workforce Navigator we are currently hosting weekly clinics in Southern Maine.

  • First and Third Wednesday each month, Gateway Community Services, 124 Canal St, Lewiston, 10-12pm, Walk in only.

  • Every Friday, ProsperityME, 175 Lancaster St #216A, Portland, 9:30-1pm, Walk in only.

  • Unemployment Insurance: Get help paying your bills while you look for work

    If you have been working for more than a few months and were laid off (or had your hours cut), you may qualify for unemployment benefits. Unemployment Insurance is program that, if you are eligible, provides you a weekly allowance to help pay your bills while you look for a new job.

    More 1:1 help applying for jobs:

    • Most Maine Career Center locations are open M-Th 8am-5pm. Check your specific locations time to confirm schedule. 
    • If you live near Portland or Belfast:
      • Make an appointment with Workforce Solutions: Get 1:1 assistance with a Career Advisor who can help you apply for jobs. 
        • Preferred: Email intake@workforcesolutionsme.org or call by phone at 207-930-7047. Please provide your name, contact details, and preferred language as well as your question or needs. You may also fill out this form online and a team member will contact you.
        • Walk-In Hours: Individuals may visit a WFS office, M-F, 8am-4pm. Appointments are preferred.
